Skills Development and Experimentation

Museum of London

Trip Write up

I went to the Museum of London on the 4th March with my class. We went to the Museum for inspiration on our theme which was on "change", I took numerous pictures for our impending photography skills write up. Essentially I had my topic in mind which was on Women's Right and took pictures based on my theme. I did take pictures that was not based on my theme, although can be used for inspiration like the Victorian Walk and the old phone booth and few other design. As we strolled into the historical center I offered to help my peers on their chosen theme and I must say it did give me creative Ideas for my photo documentary.

This image has great quality, and has a ton of detail and variety coordination which many individuals can perceive given its unmistakable given its subject. The stripes of green, white and purple are exceptionally critical while talking about Votes for Women as individuals would quickly perceive what it means and how huge it is in our history.

Process of website Design

I created multiple designs and experimented with different colours, the start of my website process was really simple but I did forget that final designs should all be original imagery. I then had to change the front cover and use my own original imagery pictures I took for my website design. For my own experimentation I wanted to explore different ranges of website designs and try to incorporate them in my final design.

I also changed the headline page were the menu is to light brown to dark brown and changed the design to create a more aesthetically appealing look for my audience.

I had to change the pictures as they had to be original imagery although I didn't have enough pictures I did change the opacity and hue and saturation of the design.

Final Website Design

I changed all the colours and the overall design and decided that its best to have the colour coordination of brown, White and light green. I think it complemented the design really well and integrated with all the different components perfectly.

I added all the pages as I went for a whole new design with different typography faces. The site Menu has 5 pages with each page reflecting the topic/information

This is the ("lets Connect page") - contact Menu were you can contact me if you have any question and you can also sign up for the latest news, information and the latest new podcast releases. Time was of the essence as I still had rerecord my podcast and insert it in my website

Website Sketch Plan

Wix had really good templates but I didn't really like them so I had to further explore until I found my match, I then picked my theme and proceeded experimenting making my website. Additionally, I drew a paper drawing of how I would want my website creation to resemble and achieve the best possible outcome.

Podcast Experimentation

For my Podcast experimentation, I explored different sounds for my jingle/intro, such as using 2 chains together to create a distinctive sound.

Podcast Experimentation

For my podcast experimentation, I explored various techniques and tools to create the best outcome. Adobe audition was quite easy to navigate through which helped a lot as I was running out of time. I first used the move tool to add the clips to my timeline, I then proceeded to use the razor tool and select each individual clip and separate them to edit individually. Furthermore, I used the trimming tool to cut any unnecessary parts and changed the start and end of the clip. In my opinion, I think making this podcast was really easy although I had a couple of problems with the sound quality, some parts of the clips would sound with less quality which affected the final outcome slightly.

Podcast Script

Afternoon Ladies and gentlemen, wherever you might be night or morning. Welcome to Reface…. I am your Host Bilal...Well essentially this feels like a new beginning, although it has been a project in the works for some time….and it’s finally formed together. First of all,… I would like to give you a brief description of what Reface is about….and what we will be talking about in our upcoming podcast episodes. Essentially our podcast is to bring awareness and show the history of women’s rights and more importantly show the overall growth/change in which that society has done throughout the years. Each episode has 2 topics which in turn I discuss and show the importance to educate people on important social matters.

Topics for today are women’s voting rights and asking the public their opinions on the situations involving women’s rights….I must say….before we crack on…I would just like to point out that for future episodes…if you want your topic of choice to be discussed on the podcast all you need to do is like and then comment below your choice of topic….as simple as that.

Segment/Topic 1 – Public opinion on Women’s Rights ------
Once upon a time back in 1920 there was a women named Alice Paul who essentially progressed the suffragette movement and paved the way for other women to join and protest against the monstrosity they faced. She demanded that women should equal rights and be involved in big decision making. Although many women were on her side…there were a vast amount who felt pressured by others including by there male counterparts….Some of the things that went on were mind boggling…from the top of my head….things like voting, buying houses, decision making were all band for women….in essence they were living freely…but at the same time they were metaphorically tied up….couldn't do the basic rights of a human….I am contradicting myself when I say they were living freely but that's how life was back in the day….and no matter how much you tried to change the majority was always on the wrong side of history and that caused a problem for millions of women around the world
Women Voting isn’t just about projecting your viewpoint, it’s about change and how you can integrate and recreate the manner in which society pushes ahead.

During the 1920s, the Women's freedoms development with steady pace, however disappeared when the Civil War started. The Government quickly brought up natural issues. When things couldn't get any worse ww1 didn't help speed up the process of women gaining their rights, although it did show a wider range of issues in society.

In 1918 the People Act allowed a Women the option to cast a ballot in parliamentary decisions, and gave people equivalent democratic privileges.
Women in the world today definitely have more gravitas and pulling power and I do believe we are heading in the right direction especially in society.

The other day someone asked me…As a guy….”what does women rights mean to you”…..and I stopped for a second and it got me thinking….that its more than just tossing words around….it means empowerment…it means to have equal rights….but it doesn’t just mean that….it means soo much more….which many understand the point of women's rights….but don’t fully understand why it exists and what women went through back In day….that's one of the reasons why I created this podcast….try to get that important message across.

This gave me some sort of inspiration and I used that to ask the public their thoughts on women's rights.

Poster Experimentation

Final Poster Design

This is my final poster design for my podcast cover. Well, essentially how I created this poster was with the use of photoshop. I had a visualisation as I sketched a drawing out before for inspiration and delved into a lot of research of different poster designs. Which really helped with the final outcome. league spartan font was the font I used to create a more appealing design and have the overall font match with the theme.
I created the fist design which I proceeded to draw out for original imagery and placed it with an orange background to make it stand out.

Experiment

As you can see throughout my experimentation designs I changed a lot as I wasn't happy with the previous colour coordination. I then changed the whole poster design to create an aesthetically appealing look.

Poster Sketch

I had a visualisation for my poster design as I sketched a drawing out before for inspiration and delved into a lot of research of different poster designs. Which really helped with the final outcome. I sketched the fist on a piece of paper and decided that it will be placed on my final poster design.
